Sinking Massachusetts
Sinking formed in the late summer of 2017 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with Devan and Dane both on guitar and vocals, and Tyson on drums. Sinking’s original bassist, Tony, left the band last summer, after which friend Nate took over bass duties. Compelling metallic hardcore with an unusual, but welcomed take on vocals. Matching more of a sound akin to Type O Negative meets Integrity, it shreds through wonderfully varied powerful songs. Roaring in scope, there are many moments of more traditional furiousity, but most of the album maintains an air of spectacle due to the vocals. Not theatric, but they add a presence to the album. The guitars are properly riff filled, and the drums carry everything along with battering precision.
